Adventures in Documentation: NoPM

I’d really like to know whose bright idea it was to include the following text in the xorg.conf manpage:

       Option "NoPM" "boolean"
Disables something to do with power management events. Default:
PM enabled on platforms that support it.

Seriously. How does something like that even make it into the documentation? Who was asleep at the switch here?

No matter how many times I read it, I’m still not any more enlightened as to what NoPM would do to my X server.

  1. On the other hand, it’s funnier every time I read it.

  2. Maybe one of us should check the patch date for that addition to the manpage to see if it happened on April 1st.
